Assisted Living Services
Cork CIL in partnership with HSE and as part of Assisted Living Service provides Personal Assistants to work with service users with a physical disability in a range of settings. Cork CIL is committed to working with Leaders (Service Users) to promote independence, choice and support people to live a life of their own choosing. Each person’s service is individualised and agreed in partnership with them.
Cork CIL staff currently work with over 100 Leaders. From time-to-time, Cork CIL has interesting and challenging opportunities for skilled and motivated people to work us. All applicants to work with CIL will be required to undergo Garda Vetting.

Main Purpose:
The purpose of this post is to provide person centred personal assistance at the direction of a Leader/Service User so that they can exercise choice and control in their daily lives.
This assistance is given at the direction of the Leader so that they may engage in Independent Living.
Types of Contract:
Part-time – Specifed Purpose Contract

FAS Community Employment Scheme
Community Employment is an employment and training programme which helps long-term unemployed people to re-enter the active workforce by breaking their experience of unemployment through a return to work routine. The programme aims to assist participants to enhance and develop both their technical and personal skills which can then be used in the workplace.
To participate in the FÁS Community Employment programme, you must:
- Register at your local FÁS Office
- Meet certain Eligibility Criteria
The criteria for participating on the Community Employment programme are based on age and length of time in receipt of various social welfare payments and residency. In general, the Part-time Integration Option is for people of 25 or over who are receiving social welfare payments for 1 year or more, and people of 18 years or over in receipt of disability-related payments. The Part-time Job Option is for people who are 35 or over and in receipt of social welfare payments for 3 years or longer.
Certain groups such as travellers and refugees aged 18 or over are eligible for both options. Applicants must have been resident for at least 2 consecutive years or the in the last 5 years. For more details please see the FAS website on www.fas.ie
