In August, 2014, the Travel Club was established when Cork CIL received the generous gift of a minibus with a hydraulic lift. The minibus is capable of carrying 2 to 3 wheelchair users (depending on the size of the chair) plus 3 to 4 seated passengers.
The Travel Club is not a taxi service, but offers members a wheelchair-accessible, door-to-door transport service for appointments and social activities. Club membership is open to all people with a disability who are also members of Cork CIL.
Cork CIL membership is open to all Cork CIL service users, other people with a disability who live in the South Lee and Blackpool areas of Cork City, and their family and friends. Membership is free. To join, simply download and fill in this application form (MS Word, 97kb), or phone us on:
021 432 2651
and request an application form to be sent to you.
Return the completed and signed form to:
Once a member of Cork CIL, you will be eligible to join the Travel Club. There is an annual membership fee of €20, which includes the cost of your first journey. You will be asked to make a contribution for each additional journey.
To join the Travel Club, download and fill in this application form (MS Word, 81kb) and return the completed and signed form together with your membership fee to Joe West at the postal address given above.

Please note the following:
- The Travel Club operates Mondays to Fridays in the area of Cork City and its suburbs.
- The Travel Club is not a service that is eligible for HSE funding and we must ensure that the cost of running the club is fully covered.
- Places on the minibus are limited and demand is high. Book your journey as far as possible in advance to avoid disappointment.
