Make Way Day, which took place yesterday, is a National Public Awareness Campaign held annually to highlight the issues people with disabilities face getting around their local communities. People with disabilities give the public gentle reminders to consider the needs of PWDs when using the public spaces we all share.
This year saw a strong contingent from Cork CIL campaigning on the streets of Cork, as reported in The Irish Times (see photo below).

As a Healthcare worker, PA, or driver, you are at an increased risk of exposure and infection. At least 20% of healthcare workers are infected with flu every year and many continue to work while being ill. You can pass on the flu virus to somebody you care for even before you know that you are sick. This increases the risk to family, colleagues, and Service Users.

Last year the Taskforce on Personalised Budgets Report recommended several pilot projects be rolled out to test various models of delivering personal budgets. The first phase of these project rollouts will take place later this year with the HSE currently looking for 90 people to take part.
