Consultation on the Draft Initial State Report under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
On the 3rd of December, the Minister of State with responsibility for Disability, Ms. Anne Rabbitte T.D. has published the Draft Initial State Report under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities for consultation.
The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth has stated that Easy to Read and Braille versions of the report will be available in due course.
The Department have now opened a three month consultation process of the initial state report, with both written submissions and spaces for consultation.

From February, the Department will undertake a number of consultation events with stakeholder groups. These will most likely be online events as a result of public health measures and more details will follow in the New Year.
ILMI is an active member of the DPO Coalition and will work with other DPOs to support the involvement of disabled people in the consultation process. Once we have additional information, we will circulate via eBulletin and Social Media.
