Cork Centre for Independent Living (CCIL) is recruiting skilled flexible Personal Assistants
As an HSE funded organisation, Cork CIL specialises in working with people with disabilities 18-65 offering person centred supports to promote independent living, choice, and control in their daily lives. It is an important job that makes a real difference.
Cork CIL PA’s work with people with disabilities in their own home and communities. We need people who have good understanding of the impact of having a disability and the importance of professional boundaries and confidentiality.
The role of the PA is tailored to meet the requirements of the individual Service User and varies from person to person It can include support with intimate personal care as well as support with day to day activities like cooking and shopping as well as supporting social activities and other day to day activities.
If you have experience in working with people with disabilities or care work and are Qualified Personal Assistant / Health Care Assistant or working towards the full QQI level 5 or equivalent. Or if you are currently studying Social Care, Nursing, PAMs or similar we want to meet you!
What We Can Offer
We have part time hours to suit and we are particularly keen to hear from applicants who are available in the early mornings, evenings, and weekends and for holiday absence cover.
For the right candidate we can offer:
- A flexible rota to suit your availability to work around family commitments, study or other employment
- The opportunity to start part time with 3 hours or more per week and build up your work with cover work as and when you are available
- Competitive rates of pay starting €13.44 – €16.29 per hour dependent on experience
- Anti -social and Saturday Premia, Double Time on Sundays and Public Holidays

As the Health Care system is moving towards new ways of working, CIL has implemented a flexible response to the service and the needs of our Service Users. We continue to prioritise their needs by developing and adapting new ways of working together.
We place value on our staff and ensure they are supported and well trained in their work. All staff are offered and expected to complete recommended and mandatory training both online and in-house. CIL best practice guidelines are regularly updated and PPE is provided to all staff for all their work to ensure we continue to work safely and to a high standard. We offer regular team Zoom meetings for open discussion amongst PA and office staff to offer continuing support through this ever-changing time and to answer staff questions and take on board their concerns.
Our recruitment process has moved online with video interview and induction training. You will need access to Zoom video meetings via laptop or smartphone.
Shortlisted candidates we will be required to provide:
- 3 recent written references
- Evidence of qualifications and training to date
Successful applicants will need to complete:
- Cork CIL Induction Training
- HSE Covid -19 and Infection Control Training
- Garda Vetting will be carried out by CIL prior to induction training
