Public Health Measures


The vaccination programme continues to be rolled out nationwide, and more than 819,676 vaccines have been administered as of the 29 March 2021. Vaccination of people aged over 70 continues, with all who are aged over 70 due to have received their first dose by mid-April. Read more >


Update on vaccine allocation strategy


DFI have written to Minister Donnelly to seek clarification on whether the changes will have any impacts on people with disabilities. Read our letter here.


Children First update


DFI represents members on the National Children First Disabilities and Older Persons Oversight Group and the Regional Children First Operational Steering Committee for CHO 2.


DFI will attend training to support further dissemination of information and training for HSE Children First Training for Mandated Persons later this month. To support the sharing of this information and learning to relevant DFI members, we are organising a virtual meeting on 05 May from 10am – 11:30am  click here to register

DFI sits on several Housing Disability Steering Groups (HDSGs) co-ordinated by Local Authorities. These groups, including Approved Housing Bodies, the HSE and disability organisations, are currently involved in the review of Local Strategic Plans (2017-2020) for Housing People with Disabilities.
